These are common items I buy that I know I will need or eat as part of eating SCD Legal. It is always a good idea to go into the grocery with a plan of meals for a few days. For me, I usually plan 2 meals ahead as most of the ingrediants on the SCD are fresh veggies and meats that may spoil if you buy them too early.
Almond Flour - Kirkland (Costco), Great Value (Walmart), or Simple Truth (Kroger)
Bare Apple Chips - comes in plain or cinnamon and are great for snacking.
Black Pepper
Block cheeses - shred them at home as most pre-shredded cheeses contain cellulose, potato starch, or natamycin.
Chicken Broth - Imagine Organic Free Range Chicken Broth or Kettle & Fire Organic Chicken Broth
Coconut Flakes - be sure to get them without sugar. These are good to add to homemade granola or just to snack on.
Coconut Flour -Simple Truth (Kroger) or Bob's Red Mill
Coconut Oil - used in some recipes
Costco Pumpkin Seeds - I mix these with other nuts or each with sliced cheese
Eggs
Frozen Cauliflower Rice - Beware! Not all things labeled cauliflower are actually just that - read the label to be sure there are no other additives.
Fruits - Bananas are always easy to take on the go. I buy several fruits and eat them throughout the week.
GoGo Squeeze Applesauce - these are great for travel or when you are on the go.
Italian season - I use this quite a bit when cooking
Land O Lakes Butter with either Canola Oil or Olive Oil
Nuts - When buying nuts in the store be sure to only buy them unroasted and without other additives. Nuts with added sea salt are fine but there should be no other ingredients in the ingredient list on the container other than the nut name and sea salt.
Olive Oil
Organic Beef
Organic Chicken
Organic Milk - whole or 2% to make SCD Legal yogurt
Organic Olives - be sure they do not include pimentos and have only SCD legal ingrediants
Organic Stone Ground Mustard - I use Simple Truth and use it as an ingrediant in my chicken marinade. Be sure to read the label carefully.
Pace Medium Picante Sauce - I use this for chicken marinade, mix with eggs, and use it to make guacamole. There is natural flavoring in it which some consider illegal.
Planters Nut.trition Nut packs - Heart Healthy Mix or Wholesome Nut Mix
Pre Chopped Veggies - most groceries carry vegtables that are chopped and ready to eat or use for cooking
Rao's Marina Sauce - this is SCD legal and great over spaghetti squash
Red wine vinegar - mix with olive oil and Italian seasoning for salad dressing
Sargento Colby-Jack Cheese Sticks
Sea salt - do not use regular table salt as it has added sugar. Sea salt is SCD legal.
Spaghetti Squash
That's It Fruit Bars - you can only find these at Target or on Amazon
Hopefully this list give you a good start on your grocery list to get your gut in check!
